Characteristics and Behavior: 

The Sheepshead Fish has a flat, compressed body and a large, protruding forehead. Its mouth is full of strong, flattened teeth that are ideal for crushing hard-shelled prey. Its body coloration is silver with five to six distinctive black vertical bars on its sides, and it has a black spot on the upper corner of its tail fin. The Sheepshead Fish is a carnivorous species that feeds on a variety of prey, including crustaceans, mollusks, and small fish. Sheepshead Fish are typically found in small groups and are known to be shy and difficult to catch.
